Status of Summer Programs (Camp, High Adventure, and Staff)

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we work through the process of finalizing our summer plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is unprecedented in its impact upon so many aspects of our lives. This update is being sent to 2020 units to share specific details and clarify options for units moving forward.

After working on a plan forward with council volunteers, county health officials, and council staff, following the BSA’s decision making framework, the council’s executive board unanimously approved to modify Camp Buffalo Bill’s summer operations as follows:

CAMP BUFFALO BILL ScoutsBSA resident camp will not operate this summer.

YELLOWSTONE HIGH ADVENTURE OUTPOST will continue as planned for the summer season under a COVID-19 management plan that greatly increases social distancing and sanitization. We still have some room available in this program.

BASECAMP FOR YELLOWSTONE: We are allowing currently registered units who still wish to visit the Yellowstone area during their scheduled summer camp week to use our facilities as a basecamp for their own Yellowstone area adventure at our regular basecamping rates. This is limited to 100 campers per week. Please email with “CBB Basecamp” in the subject line.

CUB FAMILY CAMP: Will continue as planned at the end of July.

TRANSFER YOUR RESIDENT CAMP REGISTRATION TO 2021 or 2022: We are allowing 2020 units to choose their date in 2021 or 2022. Those dates are listed below. If you are interested in transferring, please email preferred dates to with “CBB Transfer” in the subject line. This will help us to process the requests on a first-come-first-served basis. Our registration staff will call you to confirm the date for your transfer to 2021 or 2022. Please do not call our registrars but allow time for the requests to be processed. Remember this transfer will keep your fee at the 2020 price.

CANCELLATION/REFUND: If you are a Troop that has been cancelled, you will receive a refund of 100% of your fees. If this is your unit’s preferred option, please email with your decision and include “Cancellation/Refund” in the subject line. Your unit will be refunded via the same payment method that was used to make the payments.
